SAFETY GUIDELINES
FOR INFLATABLE JUMPING CASTLES
1. Supervision of children on a jumping castle should be by a person of at least 18 years of age.
2. This person should ensure that there is an appropriate mix of persons using the castle and that children are not in danger of injury from older children using the castle at the same time. Do not allow children to play on the step, they should sit and slide off, not jump. Do not allow children to climb, sit or jump off the walls. Do not allow rough play, tackling or fighting. Anyone found sitting on or removing the roof a $110 fee will be met by the hirer for each offence.
3. Do not allow shoes, sharp objects, pets, sand, food, drink, smoking, streamers, confetti, party popers or silly string on the castles. In the event of damage as a result of any of these being allowed to happen, the damage/cleaning bill will be met by the hirer at a cost of $66 p/h, plus materials.
4. Our driver should have anchored the castle by either 4 heavy pegs or it can be anchored one each side by tying rope to a secure fence, other permanent structure or to concrete weights.
5. The castle should be held down securely at all times. The supervisor must periodically check that pegs are secure to the ground, that the fan is still securely attached and there are no obstructions to the air inlet on the fan. The castle should not be rubbing on any walls, trees etc. Under no circumstances should the castle be moved, once erected by our driver. If any part of the holding system becomes detached, it is the supervisors responsibility to clear all children from the castle until such time that it can be securely restrained.
6. Keep children clear from the rear and sides of the castle. Do not allow the fan to be switched on and off repeatedly. If the power supply is interrupted for any reason, turn off the power and remove the children from the castle. Do not allow them to jump on a castle that is not FULLY inflated. When power is restored, the castle should inflate again in less than 1 minute, if not, leave the fan to cool for 10 minutes before turning back on. If it still does not work, turn off power and contact owner immediately
7. Any accident that requires medical attention, or any incident that results in loss or damage should be reported to the owner.
8. Check wind speed, it is illegal to operate an inflatable when the wind speed at site exceeds 45 km p/h. As most parties are held in sheltered areas, this is unlikely to be a problem except in extreme weather conditions. But if the hirer's site is exposed and wind speed increases, the supervisor must remove the children and consider deflating the castle, by turning off the power.
9. In the event of rain, do not switch off the fan, as this will allow water to get inside.
10. Adults are not allowed on the castle. If a castle is damaged as a result of misuse, the hirer will be liable for the cost of repairs, at a cost of $66 p/h, plus materials.
11. On slides, ensure that children slide down feet first.
12. The hirer also accepts responsibility to ensure that the castle is made available for collection as agreed and is not to be left unattended by the hirer until our driver arrives for collection.
